Where to Stay:
The Laurentide Inn - This cozy Bed & Breakfast is the transformation of a 200-year-old private residence and carriage house barn into a 5 guest suite Inn. This was the first-ever B&B we’ve stayed in, and it was truly awesome. Breakfast each morning was crafted just for us, and we all cleaned our plates each time. We appreciated their dedication to using quality and local ingredients in all of the features!
Microtel by Wyndham Penn Yan - we did not personally stay here, but other invitees of the wedding we attended did and said it was perfect for a quick weekend trip.
There are plenty of Airbnb’s in the area, too!
What to Eat:
Silverbird Woodfired - wood-fired pizza, wings, and beers
Union block Italian bistro - Southern Italian and Mediterranean-inspired food in a sleek, casual sitting
What To Do:
Keuka Lake Wine Trail - Use this interactive website to plan your trip around the lake! All of the wineries offer tasting flights or you can just grab a glass. A few notes from us:
Weis Vineyards - totally worth the trip, the staff was friendly and knowledgable, and the wine was good. We grabbed a bottle of the Chardonnay to take home with us.
Keuka Spring Vineyards - this was by far more “touristy” than Weis, but we enjoyed the outdoor seating and the view.
Take a Hike - There are plenty of great spots to take a hike in the area.
The Keuka Outlet Trail - a 13.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located between Penn Yan, NY and Dresden, New York that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels.
Keuka Lake State Park - the park features camping and trailer sites, a picnic shelter, a boat launch ramp, docking space, and hiking trails. We enjoyed a walk along the lake as it was clearly a slower season for the park. However, in peak season we’d suggest using the hiking trails.
Visit a Brewery -
Abandon Brewing Company - We loved our trip to Abanodon, we stopped on our way into town. The wood-fired pizza was amazing and every beer on our flight was great.
