O’ahu, Hawai’i
Our intern, Haley R, is spending time exploring O’ahu with her boyfriend. These were some of her favorite spots including food, golf, sight seeing, and more.
Sight Seeing:
Lighthouse Trail - Paved trail that takes you to some amazing views of the island. About one mile up and back
Cockroach Cove near Hanola Blow Hole - loved this mini beach. Challenging to get to but worth it
Tantalus Lookout - The best view for a sunset. You can drive all the way to the top to avoid hiking
Coffee Shops:
Better Daze - The cutest outdoor location. Be sure to try their iced rose latte
Kai Coffee Hawaii - Multiple locations all over O’ahu. I checked out the Waikiki location
Glazer’s Coffee - Perfect spot to do work. Spacious and homey. Also has a punch card to earn free coffee if you’re visiting for awhile
Ali’i Coffee - Located central Waikiki. Known for their matcha. I tried their strawberry matcha made with real strawberries
Bean About Town - Super fun outdoor seating. Has tons of vegan and gluten free options. Their scones are to die for
Tradition Coffee Roasters - Great outdoor location and delicious cookies
Kaimana Coffee by Sunset Provisions - Located inside Kaimana Hotel. One of the best vanilla almond milk lattes I have ever had
Coffee Talk - Spacious coffee shop that turns into a bar in the evening
Greenworld Coffee Farm - We stopped on our way to the North Shore and came back to get samples to take home. Great coffee with great prices
Island Vintage Coffee - We visited their Haleiwa location on the North Shore
Snacks and Food:
Sunrise Shack - The best açaí bowl on the island
Kona Brewing Company - We loved their Hawaiian Lu’au pizza
Farm to Barn - Perfect breakfast spot on the North Shore
Seven Brothers Burgers - A MUST if you are in the mood for a burger
L&L Hawaiian BBQ - Lunch spot for easy take out
Easy ‘Que - Located near Lanikai beach. Perfect meal after a long day on the beach
Spots to Stay:
Date Night:
Haleiwa Joe’s - We honestly prefer coffee dates over nights out but gave it a shot here. The food was amazing. Service was great. Although this spot is always on a wait - it’s worth it! Oh, and the VIEWS
Breakfast spots:
Sweet E’s Cafe - This is a must if you are on O’ahu. Amazing service and $4 FREE REFILL iced coffee. Count me in (We went at least once a week)
Oli’s Kitchen - Quick service and delicious food
Kono’s North Shore - Their bomber burritos are the best
Leonard’s Bakery - Worth the wait!
Bogart’s Cafe - Quick and easy spot for brunch
Yoga Studios:
Waikiki Beach Yoga - $15/class
Yoga Under the Palms - $49 two week trial deal - very friendly instructors and a cute boutique
The Yoga Room Hawaii - Most of the classes are heated above 90 degrees. Very challenging for experienced yogi’s
Power Yoga Hawaii - $50 two week trial for visitors and residents. Instructors are very experienced and challenge you to try something new
Farmers Markets:
Kapi’olani Community College Farmers Market - Such a great selection of vendors and free parking if you get there early :)
Beaches:
Waikiki Beach - In the hub/tourist areas so very busy. Limited parking
Kailua Beach -Not very busy and beautiful views. Free parking lots
Kaimana Beach - A little past the hub outside of Kaimana Beach Hotel. Small location and usually not too busy
Aweoweo Beach - Neighborhood spot on the North Shore. Unfortunately we went when it was raining BUT perfect spot. Limited parking
Lanikai Beach - My favorite spot the whole trip. The most gorgeous beach ever
Golf:
Bayview Golf Course - We checked out their driving range. Beautiful views and known as a “hidden gem”
