Bugaboo Dragonfly Review

We had the Munchkin Sparrow on our registry and were kindly gifted it. We also received the Nuna Tavo Next as our everyday stroller. We traveled with it to Tampa and didn’t love it for travel. In planning our trip to Europe with a 7 month old we knew we’d need something she could take naps in, would be small enough to navigate crowded Europe, and could still fit a lot of stuff. That’s when this blog post originally started… and how I ended up buying the brand new Dragonfly.

I like the dragonfly - it was perfect for Europe. We gate checked it in the US and throughout Europe (though we did have to check it before security in a few spots). I invested a lot in this stroller so I elected to purchase the bugaboo comfort travel bag to keep it safe. The bag is awesome but its really big, it barely fits under the stroller so it’s a pretty bulky additional useless piece to have to travel with when you are only using it at the airport. Note: I wouldn’t use it at the airport without it though.

In Europe the size of the stroller was great. It easily navigated cobblestones and tiny streets, crowded areas. It’s not the smoothest ride but I’m sure that can be said about any other travel size stroller.

It can be ordered with a bassinet which we did get, but babe was already out of the bassinet by the time it arrived so I don’t have a lot of experience with that… other than that I love it can fold up with the bassinet attached.

This stroller folds up as one piece and it easily fits in my CRV’s truck - which is really nice. It also stands up on it’s own, and is lightweight so we can bring it up from our basement easy (where we store it) and when we traveled with it it was easy to carry down a flight of stairs or onto/off a subway stop.

My videos do a good job of highlighting all of the features and things we do and don’t like but overall I’m not sure I’d recommend this as your only stroller for travel and daily use. There are better daily use options (I love my really old Bugaboo Cameleon 2, the fox is a similar option thats new on the market), and travel options.

Overall:

Pros: the compact fold, the bassinet, the toddler seat that faces both ways, large underside basket, smooth ride, almost flat seat recline

Cons: have to gate check, have to bring the bag along with you to airport travel, fold can be funky at times, small canopy means babe is exposed to sun/weather no matter how extended the canopy is
