We awoke in London around 8:30am, and headed off in search of breakfast before we were to leave for the airport. We stumbled upon a local cafe and enjoyed cinnamon buns and a coffee before heading back to pack up and catch the train to Heathrow. My mom and I both decided that Kensington was a great part of London to stay in because we got to see more local parts and didn’t feel like we were surrounded by tourists!

We made it to Heathrow with plenty of time to spare and had lunch in the airport before catching our flight to Geneva. We flew an almost empty British Airways flight to Geneva which was a welcome change from all the frontier flights we are used to flying, haha!!

When we arrived in Geneva we caught the 5:20pm train to Vevey and reunited with Amanda and Heidi around 6:45 in Vevey. Vevey is incredible… it’s not someplace you’d end up without a reason to go, but we loved our short half day in the city. Ok, maybe the French is a little challenging but it was still really great.

We had dinner with Amanda Thursday night and then she headed into work Friday, so we set off to explore on our own. We walked around the lake for a while enjoying the sunshine and the incredible views of the French Alps. We decided to take a funicular to the top of the peak in Vevey and were so happy we did. The panoramic views from the top + the Creme Brûlée at the restaurant were a perfect pairing!

After coming back down to the ground on the funicular we met up with Amanda, packed up the car and started our drive to Interlaken. The drive is actually pretty uneventful and we made the trip in about an hour and 45 minutes.

After finally finding our hotel & a place to park we headed to Husi Bierhouse for dinner. It was a pretty ok start to our time in Interlaken and a welcome introduction to the Swiss way of time. They are in absolutely no rush to make you leave your table and seem to “forget” about you after you’ve finished eating. We’ve been slowly getting used to this all weekend!! After finishing up a 2-hour long dinner at husi, we walked back to the hotel exhausted and ready for the next day!
