Google Maps List Feature

I mentioned my “lists” in my San Diego blog and I wanted to make sure I elaborated on the idea so you can see how helpful these lists are!

Whenever we make plans to travel to a new city I make sure to make Lists on Google Maps of places I want to visit. You can break your lists down however you’d like but I typically just put food, drinks, and dessert places in each city on one list. Once you have your list set up, you’ll be able to see all of the spots you’ve added to your list on the map no matter where you are (so long as you have data).

I like this because when we are walking around a city and need to find a place for lunch I can reference what’s close to us on the map vs what we are looking to eat and instantly have an idea of where we should be going. This helps us to stick to authentic and interesting meals instead of just the first spot we find. I use other bloggers’ information (re: google) to find places I think we’ll enjoy and I add them to a list in each city.

All you have to do is download Google Maps and then search for the location. Once You’ve found the location you’ll see a “Save” tag that you can click on. Once you click this you can either add the spot to a new or existing list. You can see I’ve created a bunch of lists for different cities in the photo below.

I highly suggest doing this for each of the cities you travel to, you’ll feel so much better knowing you ate at a restaurant that had great food vs just stopping into the first tourist trap that looks halfway decent! I’ve linked my own lists for the cities we’ve been to below.

If you click on the link you’ll be able to add them to your own map + utilize them on your travels! Feel free to let me know if you need any additional details.
